Tibetan adventure circuits are not well known to the world as other popular trek routes and adventure circuits are, but anyone with a little experience of these circuits can tell you it’s not just another trans-Himalayas routes. An eager tourist will have much more to explore than Buddhism, Monasteries and clod desert like weather.

Trekking seasons and climate in Tibet

Tibet’s high altitude and thin air will expose you to the sun’s radiation with unusually high intensity. These radiations can harm you if you are not careful, so to avoid any kind of harm this place might strike upon you have to be well prepared. Every tourist planning to trek Tibet is urged to bring following materials with them.

  • A sun screen with SPF (Sun Protection Factor) 15. I.e. this sunscreen can protect your skin from burning for 15 hours.
  • A lip balm with higher SPF or lip balm made of zinc oxide which is known to provide 100% block out from radiations.
  • A polarized sunglass with UV protective feature. This will protect your eyes against the higher level of UV radiation from sun in high altitudes.

The best season to visit Tibet to trek is from April to November. But that depends upon your yearly time table and interest. Those who are free in the winter season are suggested to visit and trek in early winters. The tourist rush will be at the lowest and you can enjoy the beauty of this place freely.
